10/27

Remember, asking permission is a key aspect when conducting an ethnography.  You cannot take pictures, record, or even interview without the permission of a certain individual in charge of an event.

On Saturday, October 27th as a group we all arrived on Olvera Street where the Day of the Dead event was happening.  We got some footage and pictures until we started interviewing one of the Aztec dancers.  Security guards came and asked us for a Permit to take pictures and shoot video.  Unfortunately, our director forgot to ask for permission and obtain a permit so we had to stop recording.

After this event, we learned our lesson. Do not rely on everyone, and always double check everything when conducting an Ethnography.
